April fools, yes; tomfoolery, no!
I never imagined the foolishness I am KKKurrently witnessing as my KKKountry KKKollapses. Here are a few real gems of ridiculousness from the last two weeks. I had wanted to include a whole bunch of “sight gags” as I took major story headlines to share here.
NOT HAPPENING!!!
So, I ask anyone stopping here to also CHECK ME OUT at substack: http//doctoro57.substack.com
I’ll start at my local level; where two of three Jewish neighbors (a group that I consider “white adjacent”, not actually white) got all panicky about a local resolution on our ballot that would have declared the city of Montpelier “an apartheid free zone”.
They were seriously misled by a group calling itself Shalom Alliance that brought up fear mongering instances of anti-Jewish actions from Vermont’s past, none of which had anything to do with the language of the resolution.
Shalom Alliance conflates anti-Zionist language with antisemitic language (sound familiar?). I spoke with one of my neighbors and reminded them that only last year a white man stepped off his porch an hour away from Montpelier and shot three PALESTINIAN students walking by who were wearing keffiyehs and speaking Arabic:

If anyone was in heightened danger here in my Brave Little State it certainly wasn't my (non-practicing “white passing” two generations deep into nose jobs) Jewish neighbors.
The resolution was on the local ballot in four cities. Montpelier was the only one where it was defeated. and the one where Shalom Alliance was (legally) lobbying (the legal distance) outside of the polling station.
A day or two later, I came across a terribly funny (until it gets TERRIBLY ugly) story of a trip to the bathroom gone wrong, where an orthodox Jewish man with constipation occupied the bathroom IN AN AIRPLANE for over 20 minutes:
"The pilot became visibly enraged, broke the lock on the door and forced the door to the bathroom open, pulling Liebb out of the bathroom with his pants still around his ankles, exposing his genitalia to Sebbag, several flight attendants, and the nearby passengers on the plane,” the lawsuit said.
It added that Lieb said he felt “sexually violated and embarrassed after having been publicly exposed in the nude”.
“With Sebbag leading Liebb, the pilot proceeded to repeatedly push the [two] back to their seats while making threats of getting [them] arrested and making scathing remarks about their Judaism, and how ‘Jews act’,” the lawsuit continued."

THIS is anti-semitism!
To look at a few headlines (just for the sheer ridiculousness of our current national situation), you’ll need to go to my substack page.
Onwards, to a most serious review of the “mother, may I take two steps forwards? NO you may not” nature of the Trump administrations relationship to the judicial branch.
UPDATES TO TRUMPOCALYSE NOW MISHIGOS IN OUR JUDICIAL BRANCH:
(Courtesy of Jordan Berman podcast from 3/31)
https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/unbiased-politics/id1634135028
1. The 227 year old Alien Enemies Act, Venezuela and the Tren de Arugua gang (remember? 3 planes in the air? 2 "legally" didn't turn back they were already outside of US airspace as the judge took his dinner break, but the third one-- that also didn't turn back-- was illegal because it did not take off before the judge issued his order.
The trunk administration appealed. They lost two to one in appellate court. So they have appealed to the Supreme Court
(are we having fun yet?)
2. USAID dismantling by DOGE originally judged (at district court level) "likely illegal over reach of power by an unelected official", but Friday an appellate court gave DOGE ongoing ability to cut USAID (!!!)"because it was President Trump, who gave the orders and he IS an elected official" in that three way unanimous ruling, The third judge who did not agree 100%, but still found for doge said the USA ID staff sued the wrong group (DOGE and Elon Musk); they should have sued the federal government.
(I couldn't make this shit up if I tried...)
3. Secretary of state, Rubio announced his plans to dismantle USAID and fold its work into the state department by July 1st. Cory Booker was still filibustering as I wrote this (see Mr. Smith goes to Washington for the real drama in all of this):
4. A federal judge has blocked the Trump administration from dismantling the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, stating "only congress can dismantle the CFPB, because congress created it". In the decision, they commented that it would likely be too late (thousands of CFPB workers have already been fired) if a block was not inactive, while the facts of the case are argued. Trump can appeal (of course)
5. A court has blocked Trump's removing the security clearance of a particular law firm, he particularly does not like. He has gone after three or four others. He has succeeded in making a deal where two firms get to keep their security clearance, but one must do $1OO million in pro bono services to the Trump administration, the other will provide 40 million.
I thought this was called extortion.
I also thought pro bono work went to people who couldn't afford lawyers.
What an April fool I am!
In conclusion, I had imagined that this batched KKKomentary had to go out on April 1 because of the level of Tom foolery I was seeing. But then I looked up the definition of Tomfoolery:
“tomfoolery" is a bit silly, but harmless, maybe a bit embarrassing (both to the watcher and the doer), but isn't mean-spirited”
https://www.grunge.com/681572/the-origin-behind-the-word-tomfoolery/
Then I realized--as a wordsmith-- that that phrase was a poor choice .
The people who are destroying my country are some of the most mean spirited folks I have ever encountered.
No fooling.
